In 1999, Ruud-Jan Kokke designed the iconic Pootjes! chair, a masterpiece resulting from a unique structural principle: sturdy where necessary and slender where possible. This results in a beautifully sculpted chair that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

In the designs of Ruud-Jan Kokke,
and specifically that of the ‘Pootjes!’ chair,
we observe a reduction in form which
aesthetically reveals the essence of an object,
in a sculptural manner.

FLINT Space alongside photography by Walter Pierre,
as well as notes and images from the KOKKE archive.
